2012 Compass
Introduction
The 2012 Jeep Compass is Jeep's flagship four-door, five-passenger sport utility vehicle, available in 6 trims - Sport 4X2 (FWD), Sport 4X4, Limited 4x2 (FWD), Limited 4X4, Sport 4x2 (FWD) E Package and Sport 4x4 E Package. Introduced four years ago, the Compass is a sleek SUV with contemporary exterior and interior features and enters into 2012 mainly as a carryover model from 2011.
Exterior Design and Special Features
The 2012 Jeep Compass features 18" x 7.0" aluminum wheels and 17" x 6.5" aluminum sparkle silver wheels, depending up the trim levels. 18" x 7.0" Rallye aluminum wheels are available.
Deep tint sunscreen glass, rear window defroster, power fold-away mirrors, remote keyless entry, sentry key (R), theft-deterrent system, 115-Volt auxiliary power outlet, power windows with driver's one-touch-down feature, speed-sensitive power locks, vehicle information center, interior removable/rechargeable LED flashlight, fog lamps, speed control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, tilt steering column, and rear window defroster are some of the key features.
AM/FM Stereo w/In-Dash 6-Disc CD/DVD/MP3/WMA player, Uconnect studios - Sirius Satellite Radio, four speakers, steering wheel mounted audio controls and one-year SIRIUS Radio Service are the multimedia/infotainment facilities available on the 2012 Jeep Compass.
Engine
A 2.4-Liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve dual variable valve timing engine with 172-horsepower is standard. A five-speed manual transmission is standard and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is an option. Both front-wheel (Standard) and four-wheel drive systems are available on Jeep Compass. Electronic Stability Program and electronic roll mitigation are standard. The fuel economy details are 21 mpg in city and 24/25 on highways. The cargo capacity behind second row of seat is estimated as 22.6 cubic feet.
Safety
The anti-lock brakes of the 2012 Jeep Compass have electronic sensors that prevent wheel lockup, offering improved steering control under extreme braking or slippery conditions. The advanced multistage front air bags and supplemental side curtain front and rear air bags ensure complete passenger safe while the heated front seats, manual locks, manual windows, power windows with driver's one-touch-down feature, speed-sensitive power locks and electronic stability control are standard features.
