Review of the 2012 Suzuki SX4 Sedan
Introduction
The Suzuki SX4 sedan is a good choice among small cars for those looking for something other than just the cheapest, most basic transportation. It is backed by America's #1 Warranty: 100,000-miles/seven-year, fully transferable, zero-deductible powertrain limited warranty. The SX4 sedan comes in base, LE and LE Popular trims.
Exterior Design and Special Features
The base SX4 sedan rolls on 15-inch steel wheels with full power accessories, a height-adjustable driver seat, a tilt steering wheel and a 60/40-split-folding rear seat. Daytime running lights and intermittent windshield wipers are standard on all trims.
The LE gets air-conditioning and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack. A 4-speaker AM / FM / CD audio system with MP3 playback, and speed-sensing volume control is standard on LE and LE Popular. Remote keyless entry is optional on both.
The LE Popular package comes with cruise control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.
Engine
The SX4 base sedan and LE are powered by a 2.0L DOHC 16-valve I4 engine rated at 150 HP and 140 lb-ft torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Safety
Four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD); advanced, dual-stage driver and weight- sensing, front- passenger airbags; supplemental restraint system (SRS); front seat-mounted side impact airbags; front and rear side-curtain airbags; rear child-seat LATCH system (lower anchors and tethers for children); rear-door child safety locks; front ventilated four-wheel disc brakes and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) are standard across all trims.
