2013 Camaro
Introduction
The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro is a luxurious and performance-oriented four-passenger coupe offering excellent power, fuel efficiency and a bevy of technological and convenience features. Built on rear-wheel drive architecture, the 2013 Chevy Camaro will be offered in LS, LT, and top-of-the-line SS trim levels.
For 2013, the Chevy Camaro will sport some performance upgrades and a navigation option. Other additions for 2013 model year include new 18- and 20-inch wheel designs, a new rearview mirror, a new shift knob and hill start assist for manual-transmission models.
Exterior Design and Special Features
The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro will sport a robust body structure; excellent build quality; sleek, heritage-inspired design with modern cues; family of 18-inch, 19-inch and 20-inch wheels; Active Fuel Management technology; Bluetooth wireless technology for compatible phones; and XM Satellite Radio.
Remote vehicle starting system; ambient LED lighting technology; Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist; Premium Boston Acoustics with 9-speakers and a 245 watt audio system with subwoofer; and USB connectivity will be available on select Camaro models. On introduction, buyers can choose from 10 different exterior colors. The RS Appearance Package featuring HID headlamps with integrated halo ring feature; specific tail lamps; spoiler; and 20-inch wheels will be available on LT and SS trim levels. However, the biggest addition is the MyLink navigation system that now comes standard on all models.
Engine
Under the hood of the 2013 Chevy Camaro LS and LT models will be a 3.6-liter V6 engine that will be capable of 312 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, while the Camaro SS will be fitted with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that will make 422 horsepower and 408 pound-feet of torque. All engines will be combined with an efficient six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Fuel economy rating of the 2013 Camaro LS and LT is projected to be 26 mpg on the highway, while the estimated EPA of the Camaro SS is 23 mpg on the highway.
Safety
The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro will get high-tech safety equipment such as six airbags including head curtain side-impact airbags; dual-stage frontal airbags; front seat-mounted side-impact thorax airbags; StabiliTrak stability control system with traction control; one-year OnStar Safe and Sound Plan; and a 4-wheel anti-lock disc brake system with ABS.
