Review of the 2013 Buick Verano

2013 Verano
Introduction
Verano is the latest model in a Buick product renaissance which started with the Enclave and continued with the LaCrosse and Regal. The Verano blends the European styling cues with Buick's freshened identity with a larger engine, quick and smooth shifting transmission, graceful arch design in the cabin and easy to use standard features. Buick seems to have manufactured to be an admirable choice for the budget-conscious shoppers. The 2013 Buick Verano is available in Verano, Convenience Group and Leather Group trims.
Exterior Design and Special Features
The Verano continues the modern Buick design cues with arching roofline, a black chrome waterfall grille, blue translucent projector beam headlights, standard 18-inch multi-spoke forged alloy polished machine wheels and premium exterior colors. The interior, carefully designed for superior comfort and support, features rich leathers, warm woods, metallic accents and ambient lighting.
Key standard interior features include cruise control, full power accessories, dual-zone automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, a 7-inch touchscreen, OnStar telematics system and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player, satellite radio, a USB/iPod interface, an auxiliary audio jack and Buick's IntelliLink smartphone-connectivity system.
Heated side view mirrors, rear parking sensors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a power-adjustable driver seat have been added to the Convenience Group and the Leather Group is equipped with keyless ignition/entry, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, leather upholstery and a nine-speaker Bose audio system.
Engine
An Ecotec 2.4L four-cylinder rated at 180 horsepower and 172 lb ft of torque with dual-overhead camshafts, variable valve timing and E85 capability is the standard engine in the Verano. A six-speed automatic with manual shift control is the only transmission offered. The Verano delivers 21 miles per gallon in city and 32 on highways. The electric power steering helps save fuel and improves reliability by eliminating the conventional hydraulic engine-driven steering system.
Safety
Buick has designed Verano for a crash-free comfortable driving and incorporated all modern safety and crash avoidance features. There are ten standard air bags for driver and passengers' protection. Collapsible pedal system which allows pedals to detach during crash reducing the risk of leg injuries, stabilitrak electronic stability control, power assisted disc brakes and four-channel anti-lock braking are the other important features.
